Forever

When the passion was young

And wisdom was a song afar

Mesmerised by

White flowers on the wall

Purity, cyan sky

Bulky desk, pupil elfin

Destiny said stand tall

Whether by the star's shine

Or under the city light

Or when the officelamp helped to guide

The curious eyes

Searching by the library

Ran free the wonder within

No end in sight to the quest

No end to creativity

To teach was to plant fields

Raise a garden in Athens

Engage in dialektos

Loyal subject to royal clause

Was the order correct?

What can "correct" mean in the context?

We'll figure it over a coffee, at my place

By the way, which George was it?

Then at night, transcribe: "transliterate"

Find the ways to de-stress

Delve deeper and deeper

Find the root

Time flew

Wish we could

Re-experience by a simple tense-change

There were giggles, friendly smirks

Respect, fear, tough debates

Peaceful hills then merged it all

Resolve made coal crystal

Between outings in the pubs

Founding events, secret clubs

Readings, meetings, greetings

Loaned buildings with low ceilings

Came soaring towers, charcoal dome

Piliscsaba, Esztergom

Augustine or Stephan

Their ecstatic vantage points

Snow piled, surface peeled

And underneath

We found home

Exceeding 11 thousand days

Still bright-eyed and hopeful

Dreams secured in a backpack

A pair of minimal notebooks

Walking by the Duna

Grateful

For our little group expanding

Should I learn, teach and then write?

"Do I dare

Disturb the universe?"

An excited yes was the answer

Though disheartened by grim events

As dearest friends, professors

Were lost through endeavors

Dare not call it transient

For the words are forever

Thy friendship begat courage in our breasts

Seed's not perished when trees are born

The parting was such sweet sorrow

For in the branch the purpose lives on

It is a galaxy pregnant with stars

Let the enthusiast be proud

Seedlings immersed in our light

Long after our final dawn

The purpose lives on
